24/01760 Intention notice for maintenance and further development of source code Large Scale Survey System (LSSS)
Description du marché
The Norwegian Institute of Marine Research collects acoustic data targeting stock calculations of 1,500 of 2,000 ships per annum. Acoustic data has since the 1970's been the most important basis for calculating the size of many fish stocks. Then there was only one frequency (38 kHz) that was interpreted, while we later received both multi-frequency data and broadband from echo sounders, as well as data from multi beam echo sounder and sonar. New types of acoustic data allow more fish stocks to be examined than before, as well as zooplankton and mesopelagic fish. LSSS is the program system that is used to visualise and analyse acoustic data. The importance of the acoustic data means that they must be interpreted at the best possible quality, which implies that the necessary information is visualised during interpretation and that data is interpreted by 2 people. Due to the large amount of data that must be interpreted, it is also necessary that the data can be interpreted to the best possible quality in a relatively short time.
