Background: RTÉ (Raidió Teilifís Éireann) RTÉ is Ireland’s national public service media organisation, providing cost-effective, free-to-air multimedia services to the public in Ireland and interested audiences internationally. RTÉ operates six linear television channels, nine radio stations and digital services including rte.ie website and the RTÉ player. These carry a mix of in-house produced, commissioned and acquired content. RTÉ radio has the largest share of listening in the Republic of Ireland, while also serving a global diaspora via web and apps. RTÉ radio services can be accessed on FM and Saorview, while live and playback radio services and podcasts are also accessible via the RTÉ website, RTÉ’s own app and third-party apps. Background: Radioman RTÉ is currently undertaking a market exploration exercise to identify the potential for a single third party to deliver RTÉ’s support requirements for RTÉ’s Radioman system. Radioman is a proprietary solution developed and maintained by Jutel oy of Finland, which supports broadcast radio studio production. RTÉ’s Radioman operates in various studio facilities across Ireland including Dublin, Cork Limerick, Galway, Kerry and Donegal and also on mobile broadcast vehicles. The system runs on a mix of physical and virtual servers running Windows Server, Linux and IBM DB2 databases. There are approximately 20 production servers, and 120 workstations spread over 12 locations nationwide. RTÉ is seeking information about market participants who can provide a single solution that meets the technical and operational requirement to provide support for the system in RTÉ. RTÉ is seeking information about solutions that have the following key elements:  A single solution that satisfies the following stakeholder requirements o Telephone and remote support via VPN 24 hours x 365 days a year with agreed severity and response levels, agreed timescales for first contact and subsequent updates, and realistic incident resolution plans which satisfy the broadcast critical nature of the system. o Regular feature updates to server services and client applications to keep the system relevant in a rapidly changing market and environment. o Triage and identification of bugs and errors o Resolution of bugs and errors including code changes if required o Development of new features subject to agreement of scope and cost o On-site visits for training, support, consultation and installation subject to agreement of scope and cost. o Patching of backend servers RTÉ is particularly interested in solution providers who can provide support, on site if required, up to and including system development. RTÉ would like to invite vendors who believe they have the relevant solutions to deliver an end-to-end solution to provide us with information.
