The objective is to promote the development of Article 6 projects addressing the climate challenges of the buildings sector and mobilise innovative climate financing. To promote the development of Article 6 projects addressing the climate challenges of the buildings sector, there is a need for guidance targeting countries setting up the systems and reviewing projects and project developers. The specific services to be provided on this topic are the following: M - ethodological work is required through a comprehensive review of available methodologies for GHG emission reduction calculation and recommendations for improvement of these methodologies. This will be supported by international presentation of the results of this work, and the development of a standard training on this topic. - The consultancy will provide capacity-building and advice to interested countries. There is a need for guidance targeting countries setting up the systems and reviewing projects, and project developers to promote the development of Article 6 projects addressing the climate challenges of the buildings sector.. This includes identifying suitable projects that are viable for Article 6 in the buildings sector and developing them conceptually with sound methodologies that prove the additionality and ambition of potential projects requires capacity-building and guidance. The consultancy will firstly provide support to Morocco, a country that actively engages in international cooperation, seeking support under Article 6 of the Paris Agreement. Morocco"s efforts include the development of a Framework for Article 6.2 and 6.4, fostering cooperative approaches with various partner countries. The consultancy will work in this context to provide technical support specifically on buildings sector and identify and potentially develop projects. In addition, this tender includes the possibility for replication of this country support in four additional countries.
