Acquisition of a Hamilton Microlab STAR Liquid Handler

The purchase is to add an additional automated liquid handler to the already existing installation in the Proteomics Research Infrastructure (PRI) at the University of Copenhagen. This procurement addresses the growing need for sample preparation in user projects, particularly focusing on high-throughput clinical proteomics analyses. The system needs to run established methods for the large-scale preparation of biological samples for mass-spectrometry based proteomics analysis. This includes sample transfer, sample filtering, and solid phase extraction. In future the system needs to be extendable for running other methods for automated proteomic sample preparation.
