The ESBN electricity network is currently monitored, managed, and operated via the Oracle Network Management System (NMS) and Hitachi SCADA system (hereafter ‘ESBN Distribution Management Systems’). The ESBN Distribution Management Systems are classified as critical national infrastructure and represent the backbone required to deliver safe and reliable management of the electricity network of Ireland. ESBN will replace the NMS and SCADA systems with an Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS) or equivalent solution in 2028 once it has finalised a tender process. The scope of this Advanced Distribution Management System to be purchased will be; (a) An integrated Advanced Distribution Management System or equivalent solution, (b) The implementation (incl. hardware, software and services in designing, building and testing the solution),and (c) Ongoing technical and operational support and maintenance.
