Announcement related to Request for Information (RFI) - Lenders’ Insurance Advisory Services

The subject of the RFI is the provision of comprehensive Lenders’ Insurance Advisory services. Polskie Elektrownie Jądrowe Sp. z o.o. (hereinafter: PEJ or Owner) is an entity performing tasks aimed at preparing the investment process and acting as an investor in the construction project to build the first nuclear power plant (hereinafter: NPP1) in Poland. PEJ together with the consortium of the companies Westinghouse and Bechtel intend to build and then – to operate Nuclear Power Plant in Lubiatowo-Kopalino, (the municipality of Choczewo, Pomorskie voivodeship in the north of Poland), consisting of 3 units, with a total capacity of between 6 and 9 GWe, equipped with proven Generation III(+) Pressurized Water Reactors (PWRs) Westinghouse AP1000 reactors (hereinafter: Project). The first nuclear reactor is planned to be commissioned in 2033 and to be ready for operation in 2034, followed by commercial operation of the next two units in 2037 and 2038. The overall role of the Lenders’ Insurance Advisor is to confirm to the Lenders the adequacy of the insurance arrangements in relation to the Project. LIA will be required to provide an independent review, monitoring, advisory and reporting service for the benefit of the Lenders in the context of insurance to assist the structuring and arrangement of the financing for the Project. LIA will also confirm that the Lenders' security interest in the insurance is properly protected, recorded and documented. It is expected that LIA should liaise with other consultants as described below and may be required to attend meetings regarding the Project and its advisors and/or Lenders to review and discuss LIA’s findings.
