Framework agreement covering 10 (ten) different types of high quality gloves and mitts to be used by the Danish Armed Forces throughout a 7 (seven) years period. The different types of gloves and mitts covered by the framework agreement are briefly described below. A1) Combat Glove: Combat Glove used in warm and intermediate climates such as the Danish fall, spring, and summer. The Combat Glove will be used by all soldiers and is to protect their hands and fingers from climate impact, rope burn as well as sunburn and general bruises. A2) Combat Glove – Touch: Combat Glove that will be used together with different touch screen devices such as personal mobile phone, GPS and Battle Management Systems. Combat Glove – Touch will used in warm and intermediate climates such as the Danish fall, spring, and summer. The Combat Glove will be used by all soldiers and is to protect their hands and fingers from climate impact, rope burn as well as sunburn and general bruises. A3) Combat Glove – Winter, Touch: The Combat Glove that will be used in intermediate climates such as the Danish winter (October to February). The primary objective of the Combat Glove is to protect the soldier’s hands from cold and wet weather such as snow, wind and rain. It is important that the glove is waterproof and that it provides the soldier dry warm hands on windy, snowy and rainy days. The soldier should be able to operate equipment such as touch screen, radio, binoculars, and weapon when wearing the Combat Glove. A4) Combat Mitt: The primary property of the Combat Mitt is to protect the soldiers hands from the cold, but also wet weather such as snow and rain. It is important that the Combat Mitt is waterproof, breathable and can keep the soldiers hands dry and warm in cold, windy and snowy conditions. The Combat Mitt shall also protect the hands from minor secondary fragments and bruises. A5) Anti-Flash Glove: The Royal Danish Navy is the main user of the Anti-Flash Glove, but some artillery units are users as well. The property of the Anti-Flash Gloves is to protect the soldier’s hands from blast, heat and fire. A6) Tactical Fast Rope Glove: The primary use of the Tactical Fast Rope Glove is to protect the soldier’s hands from rope burn and bruises while fast roping (gliding down a thick rope from e.g. a helicopter). A7) Leather Guard Glove: The Leather Guard Glove, will be used by men and women, when standing guard and parade at military facilities around in Denmark. The primary function of the glove, is to protect the hand from wind, cold and minor bumps and bruises. It shall be a simple and semi-tight fitted to the hand and have a non-aggressive look. The soldiers will use the Leather Guard Gloves during operational guard duty, ceremonial guard duty and for parade purpose. A8) Parade Glove, Unlined: The Parade Glove, Unlined, will be used by men and women, for parade use in Denmark and internationally. The primary function of the glove, is to protect the hand from wind and cold during parade duty. It shall be simple and semi-tight fitted to the hand and have an elegant appearance. The soldiers will use the leather gloves for ceremonial duty and for parade purposes. A9) Parade Glove, Lined: The Parade Glove, Lined, will be used by men and women, for parade use in Denmark and internationally. The primary function of the Parade Glove, Lined is to protect the hand from wind and cold during parade duty. It shall be a simple and semi-tight fitted to the hand and have an elegant appearance. The soldiers will use the leather gloves for ceremonial duty and for parade purposes. The gloves shall fit the hand, so it is possible to handle a saber when conducting parade duty. The soldiers will also use the glove in other ceremonial situations. A10) Glacé Leather Glove: The Glacé Leather Glove is used by officers together with the Gala Uniform for primarily ceremonial use. The Glacé Leather Glove needs to have good and tight fit and be able to be worn without causing discomfort for the user. It is important that the glove is homogeneous in color and appearance and without any changes in fit and fabric during use. The estimated value of the framework agreement is DKK 40 mio. and the maximum value of the framework agreement is DKK 100 mio.
