In the temporary phase, the existing end stop at Rikshospitalet will be closed and demolished, and the existing Gaustadalléen stop will be new, temporary tram stop. The contract is for the establishment of a new end stop, which consists of the establishment of four points and a rail crossing in the extension of Gaustadalléen stop, and two turning tracks with track stoppers. This will lead to changes for other disciplines connected to the tram, such as the establishment of a new KL system, signal installations and interface for technical infrastructure. After commissioning, all passenger exchanges will take place at Gaustadalléen stop and there will be no passengers on the tram when riding in the turning tracks. In order for areas at the current end stop to be freed to other contractors, the contractor for 7031 must complete the demolition work in the area early.
