The Norwegian Institute of Public Health (NIPH) has held an open tender contest for enhanced quadrivalent vaccine against seasonal flu for vaccinating particularly vulnerable persons from the age of 65 years and older (nursing home residents, users of home nursing nurses etc.).Enhanced influenza vaccine is a vaccine that is more effective than the regular influenza vaccine offered to other target groups in the national vaccination program. The aim of the procurement was to enter into a contract for the delivery of 80,000 doses Enhanced quadrivalent influenza vaccine. Emphasis was put on the fact that the enhanced quadrivalent influenza vaccine can be delivered in time for NIPH to distribute vaccine doses out to final users in all of Norway's municipalities, on time before the influenza season starts. The Ministry of Health and Human Services has decided changes in organising and answering the procurement of vaccines for the national vaccination programme from 01.01.2024. This tender competition will be carried out by NIPH in the same way as before 01.01.2024. A contract has been signed by the Norwegian Directorate of Health. Orders, logistics and invoicing will continue to be handled by NIPH.
