EirGrid has a requirement for a replacement for the current Margins Tool providing adequacy assessment capability from days out to four years. The current tool has a number of key challenges that require new and innovative solutions to deliver the required margins capability to EirGrid for a system with a high penetration of renewables, energy-limited plant, energy storage units and multiple interconnection points. The Margins Tool is a component of the wider Outage Management Ecosystem. EirGrid envisages qualifying three (3) Candidates from this pre-qualification process. The Framework Agreement period will be for an initial duration of three years with the option to extend annually for up to an additional five years. Please refer to PQQ document for full details.
