Gasgrid Finland Oy and its subsidiary company Gasgrid Vetyverkot Oy (both later referred to as "Gasgrid") are developing hydrogen transmission infrastructure to promote Finland’s role in the hydrogen economy. Gasgrid has initiated a number of hydrogen infrastructure development projects in Finland and in the Baltic Sea area to strengthen energy self-sufficiency and to promote the creation of hydrogen economy investments in Finland. The service providers will provide services related to permitting and environmental studies. The framework agreement for environmental services will cover at least EIA procedures, preparation of permitting documents (including for example environmental and water permits), environmental surveys and stakeholder management related to EIA procedures and other permitting processes as well as PCI-procedures. The total length of the planned onshore pipeline investments is currently between 1100-1500 km. The main scope of the services will be in EIA and other permitting procedures and related environmental surveys. Several EIA procedures for different parts of the hydrogen infrastructure will be ongoing in parallel, starting in early 2025. Major part of environmental studies especially related to EIA procedures for onshore pipelines is preliminary planned be completed during 2025. Gasgrid will select five framework service providers for the provision of the services. Gasgrid will apply CEF funding for the hydrogen projects. If Gasgrid is granted funding, Gasgrid will implement the necessary changes to the contracts as required by the funding instrument.
