The sub-contract comprises the Lostjenesten.Lostjenesten carries out approx. 40,000 assignments a year and has seven pilot crews with 25 pilot stations in Norway, from Svinesund to Grense Jakobselv.The service is operative and available 24 hours a day, year round. The pilot service contributes to protecting the safe journey at sea and protecting the environment by supplying the vessel's crew with necessary water knowledge. Losen is the captain's nautical guide in navigation and manoeuvring. Although the pilot currently has access to increasingly advanced digital tools, there is still competence around the fairways and coast, weather conditions and sailing routines that are the main product offered from the pilot and the Norwegian Coastal Administration.The los service is the easiest and perhaps best preventive sea safety measure to avoid accidents at sea.
