Intention notice: Ultrasensitive UPC2-MS/MS system for the University Hospital of North Norway Health Trust.

Department of Laboratory Medicine at University Hospital of North Norway hereby announces that we intend to procure a convergence chromatograph (SFC) connected to a tandem quadrupole mass spectrometer of type Waters Acquity UPC2-Xevo TQ-Absolute for quantifying small molecules in biological samples. The instrument system will replace an older Waters UPC2-Xevo TQ instrument, which is currently used for analysing routine and research samples. Currently we have 7 UPLC-Xevo TQ and 2 UPC2-Xevo TQ systems that are being used for routine and research analyses. The instrument systems are used, among other things, for quantitative analyses of endogenous and exogenous substances such as pharmaceuticals with metabolites, toxic drugs, environmental pollutants, messenger molecules/hormones, vitamins and other biomolecules. Concentration levels for the different substances in sample materials such as serum, whole blood, saliva, urine and hair span a wide range. The new system will replace an existing Waters UPC2-Xevo-TQ system and will also serve as a back-up to existing systems. It is, therefore, that the exception in the Public Procurement Regulations §13-4 letter b) no. 2 will apply. See the attached document for further details. Any objections are requested to be submitted within 10 days after the publication date via the communication module in Mercell. The contract will be signed after the waiting period has expired.
