National Road 22 between Hafslund and Dondern is one of the most congested access years to the centre of Sarpsborg, which affects both road users and the surrounding area in several ways. With the expected population growth, the transport need will increase and it will have a decisive impact on the urban environment that more people travel collectively, cycle or walk. The aim of the project is to facilitate increased accessibility, traffic safety and attractiveness for both soft road users and public transport on the stretch. The total stretch is approx. 1,300 metres. This contract is for the construction of a two-sided public transport lane and foot and cycle path between Hafslund and Dondern. A unilateral public transport lane towards the roundabout at Dondern shall be constructed between Dondern and Rådhusveien, along the north side of the National Road 22 Iseveien. The contract also includes alterations to the roundabout at Dondern, the construction of 2 subways for walking and cycling, alterations to stops, noise measures and demolition and removal of several buildings. Several roads and accesses will be permanently closed or altered. The contract also includes measures on county road 118 Skjebergveien and Tors gate.
