Haugesund municipality intends to enter into a contract to stone set a path up to Vardafjellet in Haugesund with Stibyggjaren AS. The contracting authority has carried out surveys in the market and is unsuccessful in finding several tenderers who can execute the work without using site machines. A contract will be signed 10 days after the publication date. Vardafjellet is an important hiking destination and a widely used recreational area for the population of Haugesund. The path up to the mountain needs upgrading to ensure safe and accessible traffic throughout the year. The aim of the measure is to facilitate and stone set the existing path up at Vardafjellet in a way that: - Ensures safe and durable traffic for hikers - Reduces fatigue and erosion on the natural surroundings - Prolongs the life of the trail and reduces future maintenance needs - Provides a good and lasting life for the inhabitants of Haugesund.
