The object of the contract is the execution of a research and development project aimed at the design and pre-commercial realization of digital solutions and services for the socio-economic development of peripheral territorial communities through the creation or enhancement of cultural tourism destinations. The contract aims to promote the development of a competitive offerings of new digital services oriented towards the development of cultural tourism destinations and to bring significant benefits to the local communities. Through the execution of specific research and development programs, the feasibility of such digital services will be verified and their effectiveness evaluated even preliminarily to their concrete market availability. At the same time, the initiative aims to indirectly stimulate a reorientation of demand (and thus public spending) towards new and more effective services for the enhancement of cultural tourism destinations. The procedure is structured in two execution phases: phase I research, which can be awarded to a maximum of eight economic operators for a total maximum value of 3,040,000.00 euros; phase II Experimental development, which can be awarded to a maximum of four economic operators for a total maximum value of 5,120,000.00 euros. The initiative is co-financed by the Complementary Operational Program (POC) Research and Innovation 2014-2020 of the Ministry of University and Research and is supported by the coordination and enhancement program of intelligent public demand initiatives "Smarter Italy," financed by the Presidency of the Council of Ministers - Department for Digital Transformation.
