Preliminary market consultations regarding traffic management in connection with the an upcoming tender regarding renovation of the New Little Belt Bridge

The Danish Road Directorate hereby invites suppliers to participate in a market consultation on potential solutions for traffic management in connection with the upcoming renovation and maintenance of the New Little Belt Bridge. In mid 2025, the Danish Road Directorate will launch procurement procedures regarding renovation and maintenance of the New Little Belt Bridge. The construction work will consist of the following: 1) Installation of hydraulic buffers, 2) Replacement of dilatation joints and 3) Replacement of coating on the suspension bridge and wearing course in viaduct sections and 4) Traffic management. Concurrently with with the renovation work, traffic management must be carried out. It is crucial for the Danish Road Directorate that the traffic can be kept as smooth and open as possible through the entire construction period to minimize tailback. Among other things, the Danish Road Directorate would like a traffic management system that can open and close motorway lanes depending on the time of day, switch between a single-lane carriageway and dual-lane carriageways and handle a reversible lane. Therefore, the Danish Road Directorate hereby initiates a market consultation in order to get inputs from market players and suppliers of traffic management systems and learn more about existing and possible new products on the market and relevant solutions.
