The Contracting Authority seeks to establish a Contract for the Design, Build, Operation, and Transfer back of a treatment facility for the collection and processing of agricultural and animal waste into renewable energy and organic soil enhancers. The primary objective for the processing of farm waste in this facility is to transform agricultural and animal waste into valuable by-products, such as renewable energy (e.g., biofuels) and organic soil enhancers (e.g., biofertilizers). Additionally, to promote the circular economy by turning waste into resources, benefiting both the agricultural sector and the broader community. This process not only helps in sustainable waste management but also for Malta to comply with EU regulations and directives and national laws. The successful Tenderer will be awarded the Contract for the Design, Build, Operation, and Transfer back, which will consist of a construction phase expected to span approximately over 1 year, followed by an operational and maintenance phase of 25 years.
