Revenue currently manages an (on-prem) estate of circa 45 production enterprise databases across 17 different installations. These databases run a proprietary relational database management system running on RHEL. Revenue also runs a small number of ancillary databases in conjunction with commercial off the shelf (COTS) products. Day-to-day database administration is provided by Revenue’s Database Administration team, with additional product support provided by the RDBMS vendors when required. As part of Revenue's technical modernisation programme, Revenue is exploring the possibility of migrating some or all these production databases to PostgreSQL (community/open-source version). Note: Revenue is not interested in commercially licensed PostgeSQL variants.
