ReWater – Mechanical-Electrical-Process-Automation (M&E) Packages for Wastewater Treatment/Resource Plants

Aarhus Vand is planning to build a new wastewater ressource plant (wastewater treatment plant) located at Tangkrogen in Aarhus. In connection with the realization of the project, there is a need for various M&E suppliers to carry out the design, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of the M&E system. The ReWater project will initially (Phase 1) treat the wastewater of 480,000 people equivalents (p.e.) with an ultimate capacity (in Phase 2) of 600,000 p.e. The incoming maximum hydraulic flow remains constant over these two periods capped at 3,000 l/s. Aarhus Vand is in the process of preparing the tender material for the M&E Packages. Prior to launching the tenders, Aarhus Vand will conduct a market dialogue with the purpose of gathering the market’s immediate input regarding the fundamental aspects of the tender material. The project distinguishes between two main process lines, namely the water line and the sludge line, respectively. Water line: - External sand and sludge reception, Mechanical pretreatment, - Primary treatment, Secondary treatment, Tertiary treatment, Quaternary treatment (1,667 l/s), Quinary treatment (120 l/s), - Reject water treatment, - Outlet pumping station Sludge line: - Primary & secondary sludge thickening and processing, - Sludge digestion and associated energy production system, - Final dewatering of digested sludge A single turnkey contractor will have overall responsibility for the building and civil construction of the ReWater project. The building and civil works are not included in this tender. The M&E scope will be divided into multiple smaller packages which will be handled by various M&E suppliers. The tenders for the M&E packages are expected to take place during 2026–2030, with a qualification scheme established in the second quarter of 2026. Prior to the commencement of the actual tender procedures, a market dialogue will be conducted to inform interested potential bidders about the tender plans and to provide Aarhus Vand with input for the further development of the tender materials.
