Rotational Degrader Drives

A degrader unit consists of 1 stepper-motor drive and a pressurized air drives for 2 degrader disks. It will be mounted on top of a larger existing vacuum chamber with a rectangular flange sealed by O-rings. To extend the possible stroke a vacuum dome is part of the drive and the moving parts are coupled to the chamber by a vacuum bellow. The holders for the plates are mounted onto a shaft coupled to the stepper motor on top. The degrader plates are not part of this delivery. The rotational drives are located in a high-level radiation environment which leads to a long maintenance period and demands a long lifetime. The design of the degrader drives has been done. Production drawings, bill of materials, and a 3D-model are available and provided. A support for safely resting the drive in upright-position is to be included.
