Service Agreement Automated Azenta -80 Storage

HUNT Research Centre at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), holds an automated –80 store for storage of biological material from all of the HUNT studies and also several other national and international studies. As of today, 3.4 million samples are stored and every year a huge number of samples are automated picked by the Biostore II and delivered to several projects. In order to maintain operations at the automated –80 Biostore II, which is a complex system for storing biological material with invaluable and irreplaceable value, it is crucial to have continuous follow-up and service so that the temperature does not exceed set limits. The storage requires quick assistance in the event of technical faults. Often this must be done via remote control, which is only offered by the supplier of the storage. Software and system construction of the storage are tailored to the customer and is not an off-the-shelf-product. The storage is not a standard installation, so spare parts will not be offered by anyone other than the supplier of the storage. The expertise and suitability to ensure stable and prudent operation of the Biostore II in the future can only be found at Azenta UK Ltd. Azenta UK Ltd is the sole provider of a service contract for Biostore II. HUNT Research Centre intends to enter into a Service Agreement with Azenta UK Ltd lasting for 3 years with option to extend for 1 + 1 years, to cover the centre’s needs for continuous service for their Biostore II during this time period.
