The procurement concerns beach life work at the most popular bathing spots and the beaches that the Agency for Urban Environment manages over the next four years, such as Huk and Sørenga sea baths. The beach life rescuers shall prevent accidents and perform lifesaving work in and by the water when accidents occur. The service is seasonal and will mainly be carried out during the schools ́ summer holidays, the same pattern has been for the existing beach life divers. The beach rescuers are an essential part of the municipality's safety work in and at sea, and experience from previous years suggests that they both save lives and prevent serious accidents. On hot summer days there are thousands of people on the beaches, and beach killers are often the agency's only personnel present.
