The child benefits can be policy levers of crucial importance to among others: (1) combat child poverty and contribute to meeting the 2030 EU target of reducing the number of children at risk of poverty or social exclusion by at least 5 million; and (2) implement the ECG by facilitating access to services. Yet, knowledge about the features, the impacts, the costs and the returns3 of the benefits implemented throughout the Member States remains uneven, impeding a thorough comparative assessment of their design and efficiency. The study aims to address this challenge.
