Support for the creation of a multi-disciplinary innovations analysis and centre of expertise for the energy transition

The objective of this tender is to support a multi-disciplinary centre of expertise on innovations that are relevant for the twin green and digital transition and for boosting the resilience and competitiveness of the EU’s energy intensive and net-zero technology manufacturing industry. The centre should identify and analyse technology and innovation trends and developments in the energy sector and in other relevant domains (e.g. digital, mobility, industry, circular economy, cities, homes and buildings) and provide recommendations to the European Commission on policy responses, in the form of priorities for strengthening competitiveness, research and innovation, regulatory actions, as well as engagement with key (existing and new) stakeholders. The centre needs to relate its work to the overall aim of creating a more resilient and sustainable society and will aim to trigger and challenge the debate in relation to the changes required to society to reach the objective of net-zero emissions by 2050.
