Technical assistance from the CCNR to the European Commission- Support to IWT Market Observatory and other measures in support of inland navigation in Europe

Address the further development of market observation data collection and analysis, in particular in relation to corridor deployment on the TEN-T network, and support to NAIADES III communication in terms of vessels, infrastructure and crew policies through increased cooperation between the European Commission and the Central Commission for the Navigation of the Rhine (CCNR). The market observation services is to be deployed throughout the TEN-T network. The NAIADES III programme adopted by the Commission on 18/06/21 contributes to the realisation of the objectives of the TEN-T network and relies on the TEN-T guidelines and Connecting Europe Facility instruments for its implementation. To further support the implementation of the NAIADES III programme, an administrative arrangement has been signed at services level between the Central Commission for the Navigation of the Rhine (CCNR) and DG MOVE. In reason of the unique position as an international institution with regulatory competences and extensive experience in the analysis of market data in the inland navigation transport sector, DG MOVE asked the CCNR Secretariat for technical support for ensuring smooth implementation of relevant EU legislation.
