TG4 - Weather Services

TG4 wishes to appoint a professional company to provide a Weather Service. At present TG4 broadcasts on average 6 Daily Weather Bulletins however it may choose to broadcast a different number of bulletins of varying durations during the term of the Agreement. The weather is presented by TG4 continuity presenters, based on scripts and graphics supplied from the Weather Service Provider. We welcome suggestions in relation to bulletins and formats from tendering companies as part of this process. All weather bulletins are standard timelines, but can be enhanced, by adding optional scenes to demonstrate a particular weather story (eg Weather Alerts / Sports Events etc), or by extending or shortening the scenes within the bulletins. Seasonal graphic elements can also be imported to reflect Christmas / St Patrick’s day etc. Enhanced graphics and information are required for major weather alerts. TG4 runs a Weather Service on it’s website, www.tg4.ie and also runs a Weather X Account. TG4 would like to review its web presence which features multi-layered, multifunctional live weather updates at least on a par with those in popular use on apps and websites freely available. Provision should be made by the weather service provider for flexibility and adaptability throughout the term of the Agreement including in respect of delivery specifications. If the weather service provider develops new innovations or adds new features that enhance its weather service offering during the term of the Agreement it will provide these to TG4 at no additional cost. Tenderers are required to show that they can deliver a high quality and reliable service
