"Vaieren" Mandal - New commercial areas and renovation of Buehallen

The project at Nedre Malmø, Mandal, combines the historical arch hall with a new building. Buehallen, with its long industrial history, will be altered to include restaurant, offices and disp. area for later use as pieces of art, at the same time that the existing commercial areas on the ground floor are maintained. New office premises will also be constructed next to the arm hall. Buehallen and the new building will be connected by a winter garden (glass courtyard). Furthermore, it is planned to build two blocks of flats over the commercial areas in the next construction stage. The project is inspired by the arch hall ́s design, with vault motifs on the entrance floor. It has a three-part facade: the entrance plan with vault motifs, a marked middle part and a top floor with upholstered volume and roof terraces. The facade expression is characterised by the use of bricks, where the entrance floor and the middle part have different executions of bricks.
